Our Sports Development service promotes and delivers a wide range of high quality programmes and initiatives designed to achieve a long term and sustainable increase in participation in sport and physical activity. We achieve this through our strong and effective local delivery system for sport and physical activity working with a network of key partners at a national, regional and local level. Our success is underpinned by the following development principles:
Access: Widen access to organised sport and physical activity through a range of quality programmes and services for all members of the community.
Progress: To help people with the ability and the desire to improve their sporting skills through participation in programmes that provide progressive pathways for development.
Success: Enable clubs, coaches, volunteers, participants and performers to reach their full potential and achieve recognition and success.

The HITS (health Improvement Through Sport) project is a sports development project funded by move4life and the NHS. It's main aim is to identify individuals between the ages of 18-74 who may have a risk of having cardio vascular disease. Some of the activities on offer are; archery, netball, over 40s keep fit, zumba, boqwa, kettle bells classes, body blast and intergenerational golf.
